I leave for New Zealand in one week. Yup – 7 days. So far, I have packed, practiced, and talked up my trip. I’m putting the final touches on my day-to-day itinerary (which I know will definitely change as I go along).

Originally I was going to take this summer to make Untold Travel a super-awesome blog for all sorts of travelers to share their experiences – and in many ways I still want to do that in the future. I decided to keep it as more of a personal blog about my own travel adventures. So if you’re reading this, you are either my friend, a member of my family, or you are really interested in traveling, in particular New Zealand.

People always ask if I’m afraid of excited. To be honest, I’m both. I’m more afraid of what I’m going to do with my life when I return. I know I’ll enjoy myself in New Zealand no matter what – but when I return I’ll have to find a new place to live, find a job (re: career), and starting living in the real world. Avoiding real life is why I decided to go on this adventure in the first place. I have also debated with myself about how much money I should spend on my trip – should I blow it all and start with a zero balance when I get back, or should I be economical and save some for when I return? Again, this will be something I’ll have to decide as I’m enjoying myself in kiwiland.

Finally, I just want to mention $1 per 1km. It’s going… alright. I’m very appreciative to everyone who has given so far. I haven’t been super vocal about having people give money because I hate being hounded for money myself. I’ll just put it this way: I know we can reach my goal by the time I leave. I’m sure everyone has considered donating, but taking the 60 seconds to click over to Soles4SoulsFundraising.org/TrevorBolliger is the main obstacle. Do it – you get the warm fuzzies afterward.

Oh, and take a look at the Donation Map if peer pressure works on you.

Anyway, here’s a video I made for you. You can watch it instead of reading this post, or you can read this, watch it, and read this again to point out all my mistakes and awkward camera presence. Comments = fun for all.
